QUALIFICATIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP IN NOAVI
  1. There shall be four classes of membership in the Society: Full; Supporting; Associate; and Honorary.
  2. Any person of good character
    1. Who has been appointed an officer cadet, midshipman, or holds or has held the Sovereign's commission or warrant (other than a warrant issued to Warrant Officer ranks) in the Naval Service of Canada or of the British Commonwealth or the Maritime Element of the Canadian Forces; or
    2. Whose military service for Canada was significantly in support of maritime operations; or
    3. Who holds or has held a commission or its Canadian equivalent in the Naval/Maritime Service of a country of which he or she is a citizen or was a citizen at the time in which such a person held the commission or its equivalent; or
    4. Who is a current member of any NOAC Branch, and has served as an Officer in the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets prior to 1967 by Authority of a Ministerial appointment authored by the Minister of National Defence of Canada on behalf of the crown; or
    5. Who is a current member of any NOAC Branch, and has served or is serving as a Navy League Cadet Officer;
  3. is eligible for Full Membership in the Society.

  4. Persons of good character who are interested in and subscribe to the aims and objectives of the NOAVI and NOAC (National) but fail to qualify for FULL membership under the provisions of clauses 2a. to 2e. are eligible for Supporting Membership in the Society. Supporting Members do not have voting rights nor the right to serve as Branch President or on the National Executive. They enjoy all other privileges of the Society.
  5. The surviving spouse of a deceased individual who was either a Full or Supporting Member or would have eligible for membership in the Society is eligible for Associate Membership in the Society.
  6. Any person of good character may be accorded Honorary Membership at the discretion of the Society.
  7. Any person who has been deprived of or has relinquished his or her appointment as a result of or in anticipation of disciplinary action shall not be eligible to be a member.

Application for Full, Supporting and Associate Membership in the Society shall be made on the form provided on the next page and sent to the Chairman, Membership Committee at the address shown. This form can be printed on your printer.
